The Families Empowering Communities initiative is a key part of this commitment. Aligned with Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and the principles of Whole Family Wellbeing, the Families Empowering Communities team was established to provide early, accessible, and rights-based support within local communities. The project supports families in Crieff, Letham, Blairgowrie, Bertha Park, and Muirton. This vacancy has arisen within the team as part of our ongoing dedication to fulfilling The Promise for children, young people, and families across Perth and Kinross. Based in the Letham community, this role involves working directly with children, young people, and families who may be experiencing disadvantage across the five project communities. The focus is on building trusted relationships, listening to family voices, and co-designing tailored support that enables children, young people, and parents to thrive—at home, in school, and within the wider community. You will join a small, dedicated team under the guidance of an experienced Community Learning and Development Team Leader. Working collaboratively with local partners, you will help ensure that support is person-centred, strengths-based, and shaped by the lived experiences of the people it serves Skills & Experience Required You must have experience of working in a relevant discipline such as Social Care, Community Learning & Development, Health, Social Work or Education. You must have experience and skills in engaging with parents, children and young people. You must be able to work in 1-2-1 situations as well as group work. You will be creative in leading and developing programmes of learning reflective of the families needs, issues/concerns. Ideally you will have experience of community engagement and an understanding of child protection and the care care system. You will have an understanding of trauma informed care/practice and a knowledge and understanding of child development and of working in partnership with other services/organisations. You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families. You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to share this with service users. You must have a flexible approach and be able to work evenings and weekends if required. You must be able to drive and have a current driving license. SVQ level 3 in social services (children and young people) community learning and development or other related field.
