Fabric Technician/Handyperson

My client seeking a reliable and skilled Fabric Technician/Handyperson to join our team on a 3-month contract based in Peterborough. The role involves carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of the building fabric to ensure the site remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will be responsible for performing a variety of basic handyman duties on-site, including minor carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, and basic plumbing tasks. Additionally, you will carry out escorting duties for sub-contractors as required, ensuring compliance with site protocols and safety standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to maintain the overall condition of the building fabric. Skills Planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of building fabric Basic plumbing skills Minor carpentry and joinery Painting and decorating General handyman duties Escorting and managing sub-contractors on site Health and safety awareness Good communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Time management and organisational skills The pay rate for this role is £13.42 per hour PAYE holiday pay or £17.54 per hour Umbrella. Software/Tools Basic use of maintenance and facilities management systems (desirable) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for reporting and communication (desirable) Certifications & Standards Basic plumbing or handyman qualifications (advantageous) Awareness of site safety and contractor management procedures
