Opportunity to progress towards equity/partnership in a supportive, independent firm Direct exposure to clients and real influence on the firm's future Stable, loyal client base across key Scottish sectors Close-knit, collaborative team with a friendly office environment Job security in a firm with an excellent local reputation Variety of work with SMEs in different industries Real potential to step into a leadership role as the firm evolves Job Prepare annual accounts and tax computations for a portfolio of SME and OMB clients Prepare tax returns PAYE & CIS knowledge VAT returns if required Support junior team members with the development of their technical skills Review accounts and tax work prepared by junior staff Manage a portfolio of clients across diverse sectors, including farming, construction, and hospitality, to deliver work to high standards and to timescales Be the client’s first point of contact on day-to-day queries Travel to client sites occasionally You At least 3 years’ experience in accountancy practice (SME or general practice environment) Comfortable preparing accounts and handling tax matters for varied industries Strong working knowledge of IRIS, Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel Confident communicating directly with clients and providing advice Able to manage your workload independently and accurately No specific qualification required – open to QBE, part-qualified, or fully qualified individuals If you're a general practice accountant looking for your next challenge and the chance to grow into a senior leadership role, this could be your ideal opportunity.
