Job Details Grade: Modern Apprentice Hourly Rate: £13.06 SLGLW Salary: £25196.44 per annum Contract Duration: Temporary until 31st March 2027 Role Purpose Join Scottish Borders Council as a Modern Apprentice and kick start your career in Passenger Transport. This paid apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Business and Administration qualification while gaining hands on experience across various departments. You’ll work under the guidance of a supervisor, developing valuable skills through on-the-job training and formal sessions, with regular support Borders College. Key responsibilities include assisting the Passenger Transport team, maintaining a work portfolio, and adhering to council policies on health, safety, and equality. This role is ideal for school or college leavers and those new to the workplace seeking practical experience and career progression. Essential National 5 Maths/English or equivalent A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
