Job Description

Essex Brownell is a global distributor of electrical and industrial products, including magnet wire, motors, drives, insulation, and repair equipment. With over 35 years of experience and distribution centers across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, we support manufacturing operations through reliable supply chain solutions. As part of our continued growth, we are launching a new facility in Mexico and seeking a General Manager to lead its opening, staffing, and integration of approximately 30 employees. This role will oversee key departments—production, engineering, quality, HR, and finance—while driving operational excellence in safety, delivery, cost, lean practices, and customer satisfaction. The General Manager will also support product launches and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. Key Activities Champion a culture of continuous improvement with a strong focus on safety and compliance. Optimize labor efficiency and reduce reliance on expedited shipping. Drive waste reduction through data-driven metrics and root cause analysis. Build and sustain a high-performing, collaborative management team Core Responsibilities Maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Deliver strong financial outcomes through strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration. Lead staff development through process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage financial resources to enhance profitability. Support successful product launches through coordinated cross-functional efforts. Uphold corporate credibility through consistent, reliable performance. Ensure customer satisfaction through rigorous quality standards. Represent the company positively both internally and externally. Experience in unionized environments is a plus Required Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish. 5–7 years of experience in operations management or leadership, with a proven ability to drive process improvements and team performance. Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated success in leading strategic sales initiatives that generate new business and sustained revenue growth. Proven ability to guide teams toward revenue targets through innovative business development strategies. Salary Range: $55,000–$75,000 USD, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses. This includes: Short-Term Incentive Bonus: Up to 25% annually, based on individual and business performance. Long-Term Incentive Bonus: Up to 15% annually, paid after the completion of a 3-year performance period.
