Job Description
Our client, a leading supplier in the aerospace industry, is seeking an experienced Operations Controller to oversee all aspects of operational finance and cost management. This role will be a strategic partner to plant and operations leadership, ensuring financial integrity, compliance with USGAAP, and accurate performance reporting. The Operations Controller will play a critical role in driving profitability, managing costs, and optimizing return on investment for capital projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead financial oversight for manufacturing operations, including COGS analysis, cost management, and inventory control. Develop and monitor overhead rates, manufacturing variances, and standard costing processes to ensure accuracy and transparency. Manage and analyze CAPEX projects, providing ROI evaluations and supporting capital planning decisions. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning for operational performance. Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and USGAAP accounting standards. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory management practices, reducing excess and obsolescence. Monitor and analyze financial KPIs, providing actionable insights to senior leadership. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes related to operational accounting. Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, planning tools, and cost transparency. Provide financial leadership in strategic decision-making to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 10 years of progressive experience in finance or controlling, preferably in manufacturing (maquila) environments. Strong knowledge of USGAAP and experience with SOX compliance. Hands-on experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing variances. Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX/ROI analysis. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
