Job Description

Special Needs Teacher Prospero Teaching are proud to be supporting a specialist school in Southampton in recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join their team. This welcoming and well-resourced school caters for children and young people aged 716 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties. The staff team work collaboratively to create a nurturing and structured environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role: The school is seeking a passionate Special Needs Teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of each learner. You will work closely with a team of experienced Teaching Assistants, Therapists, and Pastoral Leads to create a positive, engaging, and therapeutic learning environment. The role involves differentiating learning, managing behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies, and supporting pupils in developing key life and social skills alongside their academic progress.
