Risk & Compliance Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join a highly regarded law firm. This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic and collaborative team, developing the firm-wide compliance framework and advising on a wide range of regulatory and risk-related matters. Job Responsibilities: Advising on all aspects of risk and compliance including AML, sanctions, GDPR, and SRA regulations. Reviewing and drafting internal policies, contracts, engagement letters, and terms of business. Managing claims and complaints, liaising with internal stakeholders and external bodies such as insurers and regulators. Supporting the firm's compliance with its regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and implementing necessary changes. Delivering firm-wide compliance training and promoting best practices. Assisting with other strategic projects. Conducting audits of client files to ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance. Handling Subject Access Requests and advising on data protection issues. Supporting with ad hoc projects and regulatory updates. Requirements: Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 2 years PQE in a risk and compliance role within a law firm. Strong understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML legislation, and data protection laws. Experience in handling professional indemnity claims and dispute resolution is desirable. Excellent drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic legal advice. Experience working in an international environment is advantageous.
