TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Peds Med/Surg RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Pay Information $2,330 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Competent in managing medical/surgical pediatric patients. - Ability to work collaboratively with a team. - Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Description: The position requires providing care in a pediatric acute setting. The unit has a total of 32 beds, shared with another specialty. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4. Common patient diagnoses include hyperbilirubinemia, neurological conditions, diabetes, failure to thrive, cystic fibrosis, COVID-19, and orthopedic cases. Charge nurses and crisis nurses are available 24/7. Administrative support is also present around the clock. Patient care technicians assist on the unit with a ratio of 1:8-10. A pediatric hospitalist is in-house until midnight, with 24/7 resident coverage. RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment, including heated high flow and Bipap. Monitored patients are cared for with support from pediatric monitor techs. Nurses are scheduled for 12-hour shifts, either days or nights. Every other weekend is required, and holiday coverage is also mandatory. Nurses may float to other pediatric units as needed, with no floating to ICUs unless experienced. Scrub tops must be pediatric-appropriate, while scrub pants should be of a solid color and not revealing.
