Lead Engineer

Head Multi-Skilled Engineer Location: South London Salary: £60,000 - 65,000 per annum overtime An established food production facility in South London is seeking a Head Multi-Skilled Engineer to lead its engineering function. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset and experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a small team of engineers Conduct fault finding, preventive maintenance, and daily equipment checks Maintain and repair production machinery including ovens, mixers, bagging and slicing equipment Perform welding, electrical work, and motor replacements Liaise with contractors and oversee site inductions and compliance Maintain documentation, schedules, and health & safety standards Support production planning and represent engineering during audits Manage parts ordering and stock control What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment Strong communication skills and fluent English Self-motivated, organised, and proactive Engineering qualifications (desirable) Ability to work independently and under pressure Benefits: 20 days holiday bank holidays Company pension scheme Uniform and safety footwear provided On-site parking Access to company gym
