Assistant Quantity Surveyor - SC Clearance Location: HM Naval Base, Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday Join Our Team! We're looking for a detail-driven and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support a wide range of projects across a secure estate. Your Role Includes: Pre-Construction Preparing and issuing tender enquiries Reviewing tender returns for accuracy and value Creating cost estimates (ROCs) for proposed works Supporting scope and pricing document development Engaging with suppliers for competitive tenders Commercial Reporting & Risk Assisting with monthly cost reports and forecasts Monitoring budgets and flagging issues Updating risk registers with commercial insights Supporting post-project reviews Live Project Delivery Supporting projects from award to completion Preparing and submitting payment applications Managing change control and subcontract orders Tracking costs, budgets, and cash flows What We're Looking For: Essential Skills Experience in QS, commercial, procurement, or project support Understanding of tendering and commercial documentation Strong communication and numeracy skills Organised and deadline-driven Proficient in MS Excel & Word Desirable Extras Experience with MOD contracts or secure sites Familiar with CAFM systems Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts Interest in project management Studying towards QS qualifications (HNC, degree, RICS) Important Requirement: It is essential that candidates have a 5-year checkable work history in the UK. This is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the site and will be verified during the recruitment process.
