Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager (Rail) Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote) Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35) Industry: Rail / Infrastructure About the Role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading client in the rail industry on a contract basis. This position will be based out of Manchester, operating in a hybrid model (3 days on site, 2 from home). This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile rail infrastructure projects with a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a strong background delivering rail projects, particularly civil engineering works. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage multidisciplinary rail projects from initiation through to delivery. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to budget. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers. Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and reporting. Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. Produce regular progress reports and attend client and site meetings as required. Support and enforce adherence to Network Rail and client-specific standards and procedures. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Project Manager within the UK rail industry. Multidisciplinary background with demonstrable experience in OLE and civils. Strong understanding of rail infrastructure and project lifecycle processes. Experience working under Network Rail standards and procedures. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to lead teams and manage project delivery under pressure. PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification – desirable but not essential. Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Additional Information: This role falls inside IR35 and will be engaged via an approved umbrella company. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Travel to site in the Manchester area is required three days per week
