Multi-Utility Estimator (Freelance / Part-Time Contract) Location: Flexible – Hybrid / Remote / Office-based Contract: Freelance / Part-Time (a few days per week) Day Rate: Competitive, depending on experience About the Role We are seeking an experienced Multi-Utility Estimator to support our estimating and commercial team on a part-time, freelance basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for multi-utility connections across electricity (LV/HV), water, drainage, and civils, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations. This position offers flexibility and is ideal for an estimator seeking part-time contract work that can be completed remotely or in our office as required. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost estimates for multi-utility connections, including reinstatement works. * Review site plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and provider standards. * Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and framework partners to obtain accurate and current pricing for materials and labour. * Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and pricing schedules for both combined multi-utility and single-utility packages. * Support tender submissions and client proposals, including bid compilation, assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications. * Contribute to project risk assessments and provide value engineering input. * Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team to ensure estimates align with project delivery methods. * Maintain accurate historical cost data to support continuous improvement in estimating accuracy. Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as a Multi-Utility Estimator or Utility Estimator (covering water, electricity, drainage, or civils). * Strong understanding of utility installation, design, and reinstatement practices. * Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating or costing software. * Good communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines.
