Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Engineering Manager located in São Paulo, Brazil. Our office is based in Pinheiros. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects, managing software development processes, and leading a team of engineers. Day-to-day tasks include project management, integrating various systems, and ensuring seamless collaboration among team members. The role also involves setting goals, monitoring progress, and facilitating technical discussions to drive innovation and efficiency. Outcomes (What success looks like in year one) Team Growth & Leadership – Build, mentor, and retain a team of high-performing engineers in São Paulo. Achieve an employee engagement score of 8/10. Delivery Excellence – Ensure the team consistently delivers product increments on time with high quality, hitting 90% of sprint commitments. System Reliability – Improve uptime and reduce critical incidents (target: Scalable Architecture – Partner with product and leadership to define and deliver a roadmap that scales our platform for 10x volume growth. Engineering Processes – Implement effective agile practices, code review standards, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce cycle time by 30%. Cross-Team Collaboration – Establish strong collaboration with product, design, and operations teams in Mexico and Brazil, with positive feedback from stakeholders. Technical Leadership – Strong software engineering background, ideally in logistics, SaaS, or high-scale platforms. People Leadership – Proven experience managing and growing engineering teams, fostering career growth, and building culture. Execution Focused – Bias for shipping and iterating quickly while maintaining quality. System Thinker – Able to design and guide implementation of scalable, reliable systems. Lead and manage the engineering team in São Paulo (hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, team culture). Drive execution of the product roadmap in collaboration with product and design teams. Establish and maintain high engineering standards: code quality, testing, security, and scalability. Own team ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retros) and foster a strong agile culture. Act as the technical point of contact for leadership, providing visibility on progress, risks, and opportunities. Partner with product leadership to balance speed vs. quality trade-offs. Build a strong engineering culture that attracts top talent in Brazil.
