Travel Physical Therapist (PT) - $2,386 per week in Slidell, LA

The hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but storms can occur outside this timeframe. Upon acceptance of an assignment, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until after a storm passes or to be part of the relief team. Details pertaining to compensation during storms will be communicated as needed. By signing the travel contract, the traveler agrees to report as assigned in the event of a storm. The traveler should not apply during the hurricane season if they are uncomfortable with this condition. Experience with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics is required. The daily patient load is approximately 10 visits. Epic experience is preferred. The role involves working with patients with cognitive disorders, long-term goals, and rehabilitation from strokes. The clinic has flexible scheduling, as it remains open longer than 17:30. Daily assessments, evaluations, and discharge planning are essential components of the job. Familiarity with various neurological conditions and adaptive devices is necessary. Practitioners must prioritize safety and injury prevention during therapy sessions. This job requires the ability to educate patients and their families effectively. All candidates must comply with site-specific vaccination requirements. References from previous managers or supervisors may be required prior to starting the contract. Travelers with prior experience as permanent staff or in-house contractors must be separated for a full year before returning. Training modules are part of the onboarding process, and some may be billable.
