Software Tester – Windows Desktop Applications (Freelance Welcome!) Location: On-site in Mirandola (MO) or Milan Languages: Italian & English Work Mode: On-site only (PC provided) Contract Type: Freelance 3-5 Years’ Experience Required Must be based in Italy – No sponsorship available We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Freelance Software Tester to join our IT/Digital team. If you enjoy pushing systems to their limits, thrive in complex environments, and want to contribute to healthcare technology, this role is for you. You’ll be testing a sophisticated Windows desktop application that interfaces with local/remote databases and hospital network infrastructures. Expect high-performance challenges and meaningful impact. What You’ll Be Doing 1. Robustness, Resiliency & Failover Testing Simulate network outages and test client/server recovery Validate system behavior under failure conditions Document recovery procedures and system recovery times 2. Performance Testing Simulate bandwidth variations and monitor client behavior Run CPU/memory load tests on desktop apps Stress test servers and databases to uncover bottlenecks Analyze queries and recommend optimizations 3. Functional Database Testing Validate data integrity across user scenarios Test table population/modification accuracy Ensure seamless database operations 4. Deliverables Comprehensive test plans and execution reports Scripts and tools for performance/resilience testing Clear documentation for future test cycles Actionable recommendations for system optimization ️ What You Bring Hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner , or similar tools Familiarity with Wireshark, Cisco Packet Tracer , and traffic simulators (Ixia, Spirent) Strong grasp of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP) Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, QoS Comfort with Jira / Azure DevOps Ability to interpret performance metrics and write technical reports Why Join Us?
