Job Description
Job Title: Senior National Account Manager Are you a dynamic leader with a proven track record in national account management within the FMCG or OTC sectors? Are you passionate about building strong customer relationships, leading high-performing teams, and driving commercial success? Our client is currently seeking a Senior National Account Manager for a 12-month contract . Role Overview: This is a field-based position with occasional travel (approximately twice a month) to the client’s office located in the Wakefield area for sales and marketing meetings. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Account Leadership Develop and maintain strong relationships with national grocery, high street, and discount customers. Manage and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs), pricing strategies, contracts, and consistently deliver against sales targets. Lead forecasting, budgeting, and contribute to overall P&L management. Drive brand growth initiatives, expand distribution channels, and enhance commercial performance. Negotiate trade terms to secure mutual long-term value. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of Key Account Managers. Promote a collaborative and results-driven team culture aligned with business objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with marketing, trade marketing, customer solutions, and senior commercial teams to deliver on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Represent the OTC team at senior commercial forums and contribute to strategic decision-making. Market Insight & Innovation Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy. Champion continuous improvement and innovation within account management practices. Candidate Profile: Proven senior-level experience in managing UK retailer accounts within FMCG or OTC sectors. Demonstrable success in complex negotiations and commercial outcomes. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent strategic planning and commercial acumen. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
