The Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Legal Counsel with deep expertise in European labour and employment laws . Based in our Barcelona Headquarter office, you will be the company's key advisor on employment matters across our European operations, acting as a strategic partner to our HR department and executive leadership. This role is critical for ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risk, and harmonizing our employment practices across multiple jurisdictions. You will be responsible for providing pragmatic, business-oriented solutions to complex, cross-border legal challenges in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Act as the internal go-to labour and employment law expert, take care of complex and sensitive employee relations issues. Take care of the company’s response to labour authority inspections and audits across European jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and managing high-stakes situations effectively. Deliver expert legal advice covering the full employee lifecycle across key European markets manage employment-related disputes and litigations Design, draft, and implement pan-European and country-specific employment policies, contracts, and handbooks that align with legal requirements and internal governance standards. Provide legal support for corporate initiatives involving employment matters, such as M&A transactions, restructuring, reorganisations, and workforce integrations. Lead interactions with Works Councils, unions, and other employee representative bodies, ensuring legally sound consultation and negotiation processes. Track and interpret evolving labour laws and regulatory trends Qualifications & Experience Must-Have Qualifications: Law Degree and a license to practice law in at least one major European jurisdiction, preferably 8 years of relevant experience Expert, in-depth knowledge of Spanish labour law is required. Good working knowledge of the labour laws in other major European countries (e.g., France, Germany, Italy, UK). Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken) is essential. Proven experience managing cross-border employment projects Nice-to-Have Qualifications: Professional fluency in another major European language, such as French or German.
