System Engineer (IaC skilled)

Hays Italy, part of the multinational Hays group, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, which offers consulting services in the Information Technology sector with the aim of contributing to the success and technological progress of individuals and companies, is looking for a System Engineer ( IaC skilled) - contract offer : freelancers / fixed -term) to support the organization's strategic initiative aimed at significantly increasing the automation level of its IT systems . The selected candidate will join a dynamic team of 12 professionals & contribute to the evolution of the organization’s IaaS capabilities Key Responsibilities Design & implement automation solutions to enhance infrastructure efficiency , with a focus on tools such as Terraform & Ansible Support the development & maintenance of CI / CD pipelines Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate cluster management within OpenShift environments Contribute to the IaaS transformation process , ensuring scalability & reliability of on-premises infrastructure Provide technical expertise on virtualization , storage , networking & directory services Requirements Strong knowledge of virtual machines , repositories , storage systems, network components (e.g., DNS ) & Active Directory Experience with YAML & Python for configuration & automation tasks Familiarity with CI/CD practices & tools Understanding of OpenShift orchestration , particularly in automating cluster operations Solid grasp of on-premises infrastructure, with exposure to cloud services considered a plus Operating Systems 60% Red Hat Linux 25% Windows Server 15% IBM Power Systems (considered a plus ) Databases 50% DB2 50% MariaDB / MySQL & MongoDB Location : Hybrid in Rome (Piazza di Spagna) – 2/5 days remotely
