Onsite Engineer

Position Title: Onsite Deployment Engineer Contract type: 6 month FTC Location: Merseyside WA9 1TT Key Responsibilities: Support the rollout and installation of new IT equipment (desktops, laptops, monitors, phones, and peripherals) across NHS sites. Decommission and safely dispose of legacy hardware in line with NHS data protection and sustainability policies. Image, configure, and test new devices to meet NHS Trust standards and clinical system requirements. Collaborate with IT teams, site leads, and end users to schedule and deliver deployments with minimal disruption to clinical services. Ensure network connectivity, domain joining, and system updates are correctly applied prior to handover. Provide on-site technical support during and after deployment to resolve any installation or configuration issues. Maintain accurate asset tracking and documentation within the IT inventory management system. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to continuous improvement of deployment processes. Escalate technical or logistical issues to the Deployment Lead or Project Manager as appropriate. Adhere to NHS information governance, health and safety, and security policies at all times. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in IT hardware deployment or desktop support within a large organisation (NHS experience desirable). Strong technical understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking. Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work in clinical environments. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider deployment team across multiple NHS sites. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Trust locations as required.
