Job Description
Senior Electrical Design Engineer Join our Engineering and Technology team at Baker Hughes in the Energy Transition Century. We provide advanced technology and solutions that serve a diverse range of industry segments. Overview Our team is responsible for the Electric Motors and Generators integration, scouting innovative technologies and originating opportunities to expand our portfolio. In a dynamic and fast‑growing environment, you will be responsible to conduct autonomously the execution of electrical engineering projects for complex power generation and motor‑compression trains, acting as the electrical unique entry point. Responsibilities Designing and development activities for new product introductions, executing the program according to plans. Performing technical selection of electrical items (e.g., MV generators, MV motors, variable speed drive systems). Formulating functional purchase specifications/data sheets and aligning supplier technical proposals. Managing technical documentation during the engineering development phase and finalizing with suppliers and customers. Carrying out engineering design reviews with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with customer contractual specifications and project applicable international rules. Participating in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for main/critical items and supporting the manufacturing team for internal testing. Providing engineering site support during plant commissioning and start‑up. Executing and coordinating electric studies and simulations and electro‑mechanic studies using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and DigSilent. Qualifications Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar. Proven engineering experience within an engineering environment. Substantial technical knowledge of electrical item design and selection (rotating machines, MV/LV panels, variable speed drive systems). Experience working with cross‑functional teams within a global‑matrix environment. Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
