Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Lead

A growing civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to play a key role in the development of its newly established Chesterfield office. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional to take a leading role in shaping the commercial function for a new regional base, overseeing a portfolio of infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the Midlands and North. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and commercial performance — from tender through to final account — ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with client and business expectations. Key Requirements: Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent) Proven experience in civil engineering or infrastructure sectors Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial best practice Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and leadership skills Ability to build and manage client, subcontractor, and internal relationships This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact — helping to establish and grow a new regional office while driving commercial excellence across a varied and exciting workload
