Machine Shop Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Workshop Manager to lead and grow their CNC workshop operation. The Role As Workshop Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the CNC department — ensuring all work is delivered on time, to specification, and within budget. You’ll lead a team of skilled engineers, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in shaping production strategy alongside the Managing Director. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the CNC production team to achieve performance targets. * Plan and maintain production schedules in line with company objectives. * Monitor output, quality, and costs to ensure operational efficiency. * Support staff development through training and mentoring. * Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained for optimal performance. * Oversee raw material and tooling procurement in collaboration with purchasing. * Promote adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives. * Conduct production review meetings with senior management. * Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment. About You * Strong engineering background, ideally within a CNC machining environment. * Proven leadership or supervisory experience (or readiness to step up into management). * Excellent understanding of production management and process improvement. * Confident communicator with the ability to motivate and develop others. * IT-literate and comfortable working with modern manufacturing systems. * Self-motivated, driven, and passionate about precision engineering.
