Vacancy Summary Job Title: Senior Quantity surveyor Job Type: Full time employed Location: Chatteris Salary: £40k -£60K plus Package DOE Company & Project: We are working with a well-established social housing contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated SQS to take ownership of key refurbishment and maintenance projects across the housing sector. Duties & Responsibilities: Lead on cost control, valuations, and commercial reporting across social housing projects. Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and procurement. Prepare, submit, and negotiate variations and final accounts. Ensure projects are delivered within budget, maximising profit and minimising risk. Provide commercial support to project teams and mentor junior surveyors. Build strong working relationships with clients, supply chain, and internal stakeholders. Desirable Experience & Skills: Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance. Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills. Knowledge of schedule of rates, cost reporting, and contractual procedures. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline. Confident communicator with the ability to build lasting relationships.
