Senior Planner (Pre-Construction) – London Location: Central London (Zone 1) Salary: £80,000 – £95,000 package (DOE) Type: Permanent | Full-time About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Planner (Pre-Construction) to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor working on some of London’s most prestigious developments. As a key member of the pre-construction team, you’ll take ownership of the tender planning process, building robust, competitive, and deliverable programmes that form the foundation of successful bids. You’ll collaborate closely with estimators, design managers, and bid teams to bring complex projects to life from concept through to contract award. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic, detail-oriented planner who thrives in the early project stages and enjoys influencing how major schemes are won and delivered. Key Responsibilities * Develop tender and pre-construction programmes using Asta Powerproject. * Work closely with estimating, design, and bid teams to identify construction sequences, methodology, and logistics. * Challenge and validate buildability, programme durations, and key milestones. * Attend tender interviews and client presentations, confidently communicating the delivery strategy. * Provide technical input into bid submissions, including narratives and programme commentary. * Assist with early-stage risk assessment and mitigation planning. * Liaise with project teams post-award to ensure smooth handover into construction delivery. * Support continuous improvement across pre-construction planning processes. Requirements * Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline. * Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in planning, with a focus on pre-construction or tender planning. * Background with a main contractor delivering commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects. * Strong proficiency in Asta Powerproject (essential). * Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, logistics, and sequencing. * Confident communicator with strong presentation and report-writing skills. * Detail-driven, analytical, and collaborative in approach.
