Planner – East London Location: East London Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 package (DOE) Type: Permanent | Full-time About the Role We’re working with a leading tier 1 main contractor delivering a portfolio of high-quality residential and mixed-use developments across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, they’re now seeking an experienced Planner to join their delivery team on a major project in East London. As a Planner, you’ll be responsible for preparing, updating, and monitoring construction programmes throughout the project lifecycle — from tender stage through to completion. You’ll work closely with the project management and commercial teams, ensuring efficient planning, accurate reporting, and on-time delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Planner to join a stable contractor with a strong pipeline of work and genuine opportunities for progression into Senior Planner roles. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain project programmes using Asta Powerproject. * Work closely with pre-construction teams on tender and baseline programmes. * Identify critical paths, milestones, and key risks, and propose mitigation measures. * Monitor progress on site, prepare progress updates and lookahead schedules. * Support planning meetings, reporting, and presentations to clients. * Liaise with design, commercial, and operations teams to align programme and delivery. * Provide accurate, timely progress data to inform decision-making. * Assist senior planners in driving planning best practice across the business. Requirements * Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline. * 3–6 years’ experience in a planning role with a main contractor. * Proven experience on residential or mixed-use projects (£20m). * Proficiency in Asta Powerproject (essential). * Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and sequencing. * Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
