Capital Project Manager Band 7

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING * Degree and post-graduate qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (E) Project Management qualification(E) Experience of writing specifications and tender documentation (E) Experience of managing multiskilled staff and specialist consultants (E) Corporate membership of a construction-related institute or body e.g. RIBA, RICS, CIOB (D) JOB PURPOSE * To support the Strategic Estates Programme Manager in the delivery of major capital schemes from inception to completion, including design, project management, contract administration and site supervision. * To be responsible for supervising the construction stage of projects. To include formal responsibilities under the NEC3 Works Supervisor role * To lead on smaller capital projects within the strategic team to enable major projects to commence. * To comply with and ensure contracts comply with site rules and policies. * Ensure project elements are communicated with the correct teams at the correct times. Take and monitor minutes and actions in both formal and informal meetings internally and with external parties. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE * Proven track record of delivering Capital Construction project planning, implementation and completion (E) * Experience in specific project management techniques * Experience communicating commercially sensitive and complex information to stakeholders (E) * Experience in site supervision, contractor performance management, and construction quality assurance (E) * Demonstrable experience of applying current legislation and regulations in the construction industry including Construction Design Management Regulations (E) * Experience of working in an NHS * Capital works environment (D)Knowledge of Estates and Facilities services (D) * Experience of administering construction contracts (eg NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (D)
