Senior Business Intelligence Developer

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer– Qlik Sense for a 4-month contract role with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location Ottawa or Toronto Key Tasks Design, develop, test, and deploy Qlik-based visualizations, dashboards, and reports following approved architecture designs, UX wireframes, and the client standards. Develop Qlik data models, security models, and manage backend integration with AWS S3/Redshift. Embed Qlik applications into Drupal-based web pages via mashups, ensuring bilingual (Eng/Fr) compliance and AODA (WCAG 2.0) accessibility standards. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Qlik solutions. Perform data transformations, create QVD files, and implement set analysis to optimize performance. Use Qlik Management Console for managing security rules, streams, apps, tasks, and extensions. Apply best practices for visualizations, dashboard design, and performance tuning. Collaborate closely with UX designers to ensure dashboards meet wireframe and design standards. Provide coaching or guidance to internal teams on Qlik development best practices. Key Qualifications Extensive experience developing and deploying Qlik Sense applications, including dashboards, visualizations, data models, QVD files, and integrations with web platforms (Drupal via mashups). Strong expertise in data transformation, SQL performance tuning, and cloud-based BI environments (AWS Redshift/S3), ensuring scalable and optimized reporting solutions. Proven ability to lead technical BI solutions, apply best practices for accessibility (AODA/WCAG 2.0) and bilingual requirements, and provide guidance or mentorship to internal teams. Qualifications Experience with Qlik Management Console for security, streams, apps, tasks, and extensions. Familiarity with Qlik APIs for mashups and embedding dashboards into web pages. Knowledge of cloud technology stack (AWS, Redshift, S3, Informatica, Drupal). Hands-on experience with third-party charting libraries and custom visualizations (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js). Experience coaching or mentoring team members in Qlik development. Proven ability to implement BI solutions in a cloud environment, following enterprise standards.
