Your new role Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business units, and lead the Data Governance Council. Design and implement data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes; oversee data profiling, cleansing, and validation. Implement metadata management and master data management practices to enhance data discoverability and harmonization. Partner with business leaders, IT, and analytics teams to align data initiatives with strategic priorities and promote data literacy. Manage a team of data governance specialists, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement What You'll Need to Succeed A minimum of 11 years’ experience in data management, governance, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in mining, heavy industry, or industrial operations is preferred. Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), metadata management, and data quality platforms. Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP), data lakes, and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into governance solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving cultural change. Deep understanding of data privacy laws, compliance frameworks, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 8000, DAMA-DMBOK).
