Job Description

Would you like to play a key role in improving the quality of life for patients with hearing loss? My client is a global innovator in implantable medical technologies, with a dedicated site in the South of France that specialises in the development and production of active implantable class III devices . The site also manages local R&D and sales activities and is set to become the worldwide hub for distribution of the company’s product portfolio. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Director of Operations to oversee the full range of operational activities on site and to strengthen the global operations organisation. This role reports directly to the VP of QARA & Operations and carries responsibility for both site production and international distribution. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the on-site Operations team, ensuring the effective running of high-quality medical device manufacturing. Define and execute the global distribution strategy. Contribute to the wider global Operations strategy and drive related projects. Main Missions: Direct on-site production activities including engineering, supply chain, quality, NPI, post-market changes, IT, and administrative support. Manage budgets, monitor performance and ensure compliance with procedures and quality standards. Oversee serial production, guaranteeing high quality and regulatory compliance. Support new product introductions, ensuring smooth industrialisation and ramp-up. Develop suppliers and ensure efficient sourcing. Ensure global on-time delivery to distributors and customers. Expand and strengthen Operations activities at the French site, including insourcing global distribution and integrating additional product lines. Profile: Master’s degree in science or engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience 10 years of experience in senior operations leadership within medical devices or pharmaceuticals. Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and regulated environments. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements in medical devices/implants. Proven experience with finance and P&L responsibility. Interpersonal Skills Outstanding leadership and organisational skills. Strategic decision-making ability and strong problem-solving skills. Able to influence and drive change at senior level. Excellent communication skills, fluent in both French and English.
