Estimator – Social Housing Location: Swanley Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive Benefits About the Role We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team in Swanley, specialising in projects within the social housing sector. The successful candidate will have a proven background working for main contractors within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of planned maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofit works. You’ll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of social housing projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and quality across every tender submission. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for social housing projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce accurate take-offs and pricing. Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and the internal pre-construction team to ensure bids are competitive and compliant. Participate in tender review meetings, value engineering discussions, and post-tender negotiations. Maintain strong commercial awareness and ensure alignment with company objectives and client expectations. Requirements Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor in the construction sector. Solid understanding of social housing, planned works, refurbishment, or retrofit projects. Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
