As the Council's BIDs Lead, you'll be at the forefront of economic growth and placemaking in Kensington and Chelsea. You'll work with Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) to strengthen local economies, attract investment and enhance the places where people live, work and visit. Working Style: You'll be based in the Borough for 4 days a week, playing a key role supporting businesses in our town centres to achieve public realm improvements and facilitate their cultural agendas. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference in the borough. What you'll be doing: This is a pivotal, visible role where you'll act as the main liaison between the Council and the borough's Business Improvement Districts. You'll lead on engagement, coordination and delivery - supporting each BID to operate smoothly and delivers real benefits for businesses, neighbourhoods and residents alike. Your leadership will be key in helping set up new and supporting existing BIDs. Your work programme will include supporting the establishment of the high-profile Earl's Court BID and ensuring the three upcoming BID ballots in 2026 are run efficiently., For new BIDs, you'll oversee the full lifecycle, from scoping new proposals to engaging with businesses to gauge interest, executing ballots jointly drafting operating agreements and ensuring effective levy collection. You'll also manage the full operations for the Knightsbridge Property Owner BID , handling financial processes such as annual invoicing and recovery of unpaid levies - ensuring the borough continues to attract and sustain investment. Day to day, you'll act as a trusted ambassador and expert, building strong relationships with BID Boards, business representatives and internal Council teams. You'll bring people together - coordinating meetings, sharing best practice and identifying opportunities for collaboration and joint projects across the borough. Your work will have real impact. Through your leadership, BIDs will help create high-quality employment and training opportunities for local residents, deliver cultural programmes and fund visible improvements to public spaces - directly enhancing the borough's economic vitality. For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification What you'll bring You'll bring significant experience of working directly with Business Improvement Districts and a deep understanding of how they drive local economic growth and placemaking. You'll also have strong experience in project and contract management , with a track record of delivering successful, multi-stakeholder initiatives. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential. You'll be confident working with senior officers, business leaders and elected members - able to advise, influence and find common ground in a complex, high-profile environment. You'll be proactive, organised and resilient - comfortable balancing competing priorities while keeping projects on track. You'll bring creativity and innovation to your work, seeking out new opportunities to expand BID activity and secure investment that benefits local communities. This role requires flexibility, including occasional evening or weekend work to support BID events and consultations.
