Job Description Job Description OEM Automotive Build Technician Location: Plymouth, MI (On-site at Troy Design & Manufacturing) Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts Job Type: Full-time, Contract (via Pro Staff Services, LLC) Why Join Us? As an Engineering Build Technician , you’ll work on exciting vehicle projects, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems while collaborating with top industry professionals. Contract Information: This is a contract position with Pro Staff Services, LLC, on a job site in Plymouth MI at Troy Design & Manufacturing. What You’ll Do: Follow written instructions, service manuals, and installation sheets. Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various vehicles per manufacturer specs. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems , including wiring, sensors, lighting, batteries, alternators, and ECUs. Diagnose and fix infotainment systems, security systems, and power accessories . Assemble and modify interior trim parts (dashboards, doors, consoles, panels, etc.). Utilize shop tools such as mills, lathes, saws, sanders, routers, and drill presses. Communicate build issues with the Engineering and Build Coordinator . Maintain detailed records of work completed. Lead meetings with Ford engineers and program teams to discuss timing, priorities, and updates. What You’ll Need: ✅ 2 years of dealership or auto shop experience. ✅ Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and wiring . ✅ Proficiency with MS Office and documentation of tasks. ✅ Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment. ✅ ASE/Michigan Mechanic Certification (Preferred but not required). ✅ High attention to detail, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills. Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): Expertise in automotive electronics, sensors, and test equipment . Experience in installing and calibrating data acquisition and sensing equipment .
