The Welding Process Engineer is responsible for the development, optimization, and supervision of welding processes to ensure high-quality and cost-effective fabrication. Ensures compliance with industry standards, supports production efficiency, and leads continuous improvement projects related to welding technologies, materials, and techniques JOB RESPONSIBILITY 1.Develop and standardize welding processes for various products and structures in alignment with engineering specifications. 2.Define welding parameters, procedures (WPS/PQR), and material compatibility according to project requirements. 3.Support production with technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis of welding issues. 4.Ensure welding quality and compliance with standards such as AWS, ISO, or ASME. 5.Collaborate with the design and quality teams to improve manufacturability and reduce defects. 6.Evaluate and implement new welding technologies, tools, and materials. 7.Conduct training and certification of welders based on internal standards and industry regulations. 8.Lead or support continuous improvement projects focused on cost, safety, and performance. Ensure welding documentation, inspections, and records are properly maintained INTERNAL & EXTERNAL INTERFACE External: Welding equipment and consumables suppliers, Certification bodies and auditors, External training and technical consultants. Internal: Production (Welding/Fabrication), Quality Assurance, Design Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) KPI (KEY PERFORMANCE INDEX) Client: 1.Welding quality and first-pass yield rate 2.Reduction in customer complaints related to welds Internal process: 1.Welding defect rate 2.Compliance with welding procedures and audit readiness 3.Welding cycle time optimization Abilities: 1.Technical problem-solving 2.Welding process design and documentation 3.Root cause analysis and corrective actions 4- Leadership in training and standardization QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS A. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. B. WORKING EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. C. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS In-depth knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) •Familiarity with AWS/ASME/ISO welding codes and standards •Experience in WPS, PQR , and welder qualification processes •Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols •Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools D. LANGUAGE: English Intermediate to advanced – required for standards, technical documents, and supplier communication. E. OTHERS CORE COMPETENCE Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adjust to changing production demands and schedules.
