Job Description

Job & Company Description We are seeking a dedicated Commodity Specialist  to manage and optimize the sourcing lifecycle for high-value commodity portfolios. You will deepen understanding of assigned categories, devise and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate with key suppliers, and oversee contract implementation and supplier performance to ensure optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) outcomes.  Education Degree in Business, Commercial, Engineering or a relevant technical discipline. Strong academic grounding to support analytical and sourcing strategy responsibilities.  Certifications & Licenses (highly preferred in South Africa) Certification from Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) (or equivalent). Certification from SAPICS — The Association for Operations Management in South Africa. Other recognised procurement/supply-chain credentials (e.g., CPM) an advantage.  Job Experience & Skills Required Minimum of 6 years  commercial/technical experience plus at least 3 years  strategic sourcing experience — especially in heavy-duty engineering, mining, or manufacturing. Experience with energy, logistics, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), or raw materials is highly advantageous. Proven record of negotiation and contract management with key suppliers and high-spend commodities. Strong competency in spend analysis, commodity matrix management and inventory/stock strategies. Practical knowledge of SAP (especially MM module) and working within ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovative sourcing skills. Superior presentation, assertive communication and negotiation skills to engage with senior stakeholders and suppliers.  APPLY NOW! Â
