Job Description
Safe Start School Tameside, is an Independent SEN provision for students 11-16 years with additional needs. The well-being and achievement of every child are of the utmost importance to us and it is only through a supportive partnership between students, families, school and other professionals that we can achieve this. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced SEMH Teacher to help our children achieve a qualification within school. Experience required within an SEMH School as a qualified teacher. We welcome applicants from the Primary Education field who wish to teach at a Secondary level. Experience of Functional Skills and GCSE Maths and English would be desirable for our KS4 classes. Our children all have EHCPs and additional SEN and Emotional needs. You will have a small class of up to 5 students and support from a teaching assistant. The class teacher will follow a primary model, where students are taught the majority of the curriculum with their one key teacher. Person Specification: A good understanding of the Independent School Standards The ability to teach KS3/KS4 Ability to set realistic targets Ability to manage change Ability to prioritise tasks Able to establish an ethos conducive to promoting good relationships whilst maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.
