Lead Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer – Hybrid (1–2 days a week, Stockport) – £70–80k Most senior engineers get to a point where they don’t just want to code what’s in front of them — they want to influence how it’s built. That’s what this role is about. The business is scaling quickly and the engineering function is still being shaped. You’ll be leading on architecture decisions, setting standards, and mentoring the team — while staying close to the code. It’s a genuine step up into leadership with the freedom to do things properly. What you’ll be doing: Lead on technical design and solution decisions. Stay hands-on with .NET and JavaScript/TypeScript builds. Coach, review and guide engineers to raise the standard. Help drive clean, scalable SaaS platform development. Work closely with product and leadership to shape direction.
