Job Description

Do you thrive in hands-on environments where innovation meets impact? Curious about how engineering can support a greener world? Ready to help shape the future of smart, sustainable systems? If you’re looking to work with cutting-edge tech while making a meaningful difference, this opportunity is designed for you. Why This Role is Great You’ll be joining a fast-moving product development environment with a small but growing R&D function that’s focused on building intelligent, connected hardware solutions. The role offers the chance to work on forward-thinking projects where theory meets application. Here’s what makes this opportunity exciting: Take ownership of design and testing processes that directly impact future product development. Lead experiments to enhance system performance and validate prototypes. Create bespoke test rigs involving mechanical assembly and integrated systems. Collaborate with experts across engineering, software, and product disciplines. Produce technical insights and reports that feed directly into commercial decisions. Build CAD models and technical drawings that shape how new products are built and launched. Apply both academic and practical thinking to real-world tech challenges. This is a hands-on, lab-based position, ideal for someone who loves practical problem-solving, experimentation, and engineering craftsmanship. About You This role suits someone excited about being part of a team driving innovation in smart systems and sustainable tech. You’ll enjoy applying your technical expertise across a mix of digital tools and physical build environments. Your background might include: A degree or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, or another technical field. Experience working in a practical setting – whether academic, commercial, or project-based. Confidence switching between CAD modelling, test design, and hands-on build work like wiring, plumbing, or mechanical assembly. Working knowledge of SolidWorks (other CAD tools also welcome). Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Bonus experience (not essential): Familiarity with 3DExperience or CFD tools like SimScale. Exposure to software for hardware or embedded systems. An understanding of system optimisation or control logic. Most importantly, you’ll be curious, adaptable, and motivated by real-world problem-solving. Join a Company That’s Building for the Future Our client is on a mission to make smarter, more sustainable living possible through technology. They’ve been recognised for their commitment to innovation and are growing steadily, with a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and impact.
