Packaging Buyer – FMCG / Packaging Manufacturing Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year / Negotiable for the right candidate Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role A fast-growing, dynamic packaging manufacturing group is seeking a hands-on Packaging Buyer to join their procurement team. This is a key role responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing all packaging materials for the group, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. You will be a true “wheeler-dealer” , negotiating with suppliers, building strong relationships, and driving value for the business. This role suits someone with experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer goods, or similar industries, who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase packaging materials across multiple sites and business units. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals. Manage supplier relationships and ensure high standards of service, quality, and compliance. Monitor stock levels and work with operations to ensure availability of packaging materials. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, innovations, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams including Production, Quality, and Finance to align purchasing with business needs. Drive continuous improvement and procurement efficiencies across the group. Requirements Proven hands-on purchasing experience within FMCG, Packaging manufacturing, consumer goods, or similar industries. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills – a real “wheeler-dealer.” Ability to work independently and make fast, informed decisions. Commercially aware and able to deliver cost savings without compromising quality. Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
