Cloud Platform Engineer – GCP / Terraform / Kubernetes / Python Location: London (For the first 3 months – 5 days per week in office), (thereafter – 3 days per week in office) Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 bonus benefits Company Overview Join a leading global trading firm that combines cutting-edge technology with a collaborative culture to achieve excellence. Role Responsibilities Cloud Foundation: Build and scale the firm’s GCP environment - networking, IAM, security, and infrastructure - using an “everything as code” approach with Terraform and Terramate . Automation & Reliability: Implement and maintain self-healing, highly available architecture with a focus on Kubernetes (GKE) . Platform Support: Manage and optimise key platforms such as Airflow , BigQuery , and PostgreSQL clusters. Developer Experience: Enhance internal developer productivity through Coder remote dev environments, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling. Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Engineering, Trading Technology, and Platform teams to deliver robust, scalable cloud solutions. Required Skills and Experience Experience: 2-4 years in a Cloud, Platform, or DevOps Engineering role. Programming: Strong Python skills, with a focus on automation and maintainable code. Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (ideally GCP ). Infrastructure as Code: Strong working knowledge of Terraform (Terramate a plus). Containerisation: Proficiency with Kubernetes (preferably GKE ). CI/CD: Familiarity with GitLab CI and continuous integration concepts. Mindset: Pragmatic, customer-focused, and driven by efficiency and automation. Education: Minimum 2:1 degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience. Desirable: Exposure to observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Mimir). Interest in data platforms or AI-enabled development workflows.
