Job Description
Sales Engineer Location: Nechells, Birmingham Salary: £28k - £32k DOE Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm & Friday's 8am - 1pm Our client is a forward-thinking organisation within the Manufacturing and Production sector, committed to providing innovative solutions and outstanding service. Due to company growth, they are now looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to join their sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will: Work towards achieving and exceeding sales targets within a 12-month cycle, with quarterly performance reviews. Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities while nurturing and strengthening relationships with existing customers. Gain a deep understanding of customer needs to provide tailored technical and commercial solutions. Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to showcase capabilities and value. Respond promptly to customer enquiries, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. Collaborate closely with the wider sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies. Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to promote products and expand brand presence. Generate leads through proactive prospecting and cold calling to build a strong sales pipeline. Schedule and conduct follow-up meetings to maintain and grow existing accounts. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies. Prepare and negotiate sales proposals, quotations, and contract terms to successfully close deals. Produce accurate costings and detailed technical quotations aligned with customer requirements. Liaise with production and engineering teams to ensure customer deadlines and specifications are met. Communicate effectively across departments to ensure smooth project handover and delivery. Key Skills and Requirements: Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with a professional, customer-focused approach. Proven sales experience, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sector. Strong ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships. A full, valid driving licence essential for travel to customer sites. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel. PowerPoint and Outlook) Familiar with CRM systems Skilled in market research and customer insight gathering to identify opportunities and tailor solutions.
