General Manager (Engineering Background)

Location: North East / County Durham (commutable from Sunderland, Durham, Newton Aycliffe, Spennymoor) TS21 Location Overview We are working with a leading Consumer goods manufacturer seeking an experienced General Manager to take full responsibility for their North East site. This is a senior leadership role, best suited to someone with a strong engineering background in manufacturing , proven site management or GM experience, and a track record within thermoforming and injection moulding . The Role Lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all manufacturing processes. Provide strong technical leadership, drawing on your background in engineering and plastics manufacturing. Oversee production, engineering, supply chain, and commercial functions at site level. Deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence in line with business objectives. Act as the key point of accountability for site performance, driving profitability and customer satisfaction. The Ideal Candidate Proven General Manager / Site Manager within a manufacturing environment. Strong engineering foundation/hands on experience and background - essential Experience in thermoforming and injection moulding is essential. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and improve operational performance. Commercially astute with excellent leadership and communication skills.
