Quantity Surveyor South West (3 days on-site) Outside IR35 £350 a day Utilities / Fibre Networks 1.5 years worth of work Were working with a leading player in the utilities sector who are rolling out big fibre and infrastructure projects across the South West (Cornwall area) and were on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team. If youve come from the utilities sector (and know your way around fibre builds), this ones for you. Youll be the go-to person for all things cost and commercial keeping track of materials, budgets and any design changes that come your way. Youll be in the mix with project managers, supervisor, engineers, subcontractors and site teams, making sure everything adds up and runs smoothly from a commercial point of view. Youll get involved in pricing, cost tracking, reviewing build packs, and spotting any opportunities to save time or money along the way. Its a hands-on role youll be on-site around 2/3 days a week, checking progress, measuring works, and working closely with the delivery team. Youll need solid experience in utilities or fibre, strong Excel and reporting skills, and the confidence to hold your own in conversations with clients and contractors. Ideally, youve got a degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management and a few years experience in a similar role. If youre RICS certified, thats a nice bonus but what really matters is your practical know-how and ability to make things happen.
