Senior Marine Engineering Officer Contract Role | £39.24/hr via Umbrella Location: London Are you a qualified Marine Engineer ready to take on a hands-on leadership role We’re looking for a Senior Marine Engineering Officer to provide first-line technical support for river vessels and terminal assets, ensuring safe and efficient operations across London’s waterways. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead and support a team of Assistant Engineering Officers (AEOs) Diagnose and resolve technical issues in vessel propulsion, automation, and control systems Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with marine safety standards Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to deliver engineering works Support dry dock preparations and supervise major engineering projects Essential EOOW Certificate of Competence (STCW III/1) or higher (MCA or equivalent) HND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and technical reporting skills Experience with diesel-electric propulsion systems and hybrid power generation Familiarity with marine safety management systems and planned maintenance software Desirable ML5 Medical Fitness Personal Survival Techniques Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Elementary First Aid Personal Safety & Social Responsibility *Please note, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position* To apply for this position, please call Stuart Hensman on 44 (0)2392 228231 or email your CV Stuart.Hensman@arm.co.uk
