New Job Opportunity - Senior Piping / Vessel stress engineer - Initially 12 Month Contract Location : Warrington Rate : Negotiable Inside IR35 Hybrid : Flexible Contract Length: Initially 12 Months Key abilities: Identify different stress packages through review of P&IDs & Line lists Draft piping specifications for process and power (pressure) piping Create ITT packs for sub-contract piping deliverables Assist with the management of sub-contractors and vendors as Intelligent customer (IC) Review and check designs, drawings, and data from vendors Technical ability to produce, check and review the following. Piping Stress Analysis for loading Flexibility studies to accommodate thermal expansion (static and dynamic) Vibration Studies to identify the source, assess and mitigate the effect on safety, reliability, and performance Pipe support selection taking cognisance of the above analysis and studies Documentation including specifications, stress reports and other calculations. Review and sign-off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supports Review 3D models for pipe routing and compliance with specifications and stress reports Software Proficiency: Hexagon - Caesar II pipe stress analysis; essential Hexagon - PV Elite pressure vessel analysis, essential Dynaflow - PRG Software including NozzlePRO and FE Pipe, desirable AutoCAD Plant 3D, desirable Code Familiarity: ASME B31.1 Power piping predominantly and BS EN 13840 Pressure Piping ASME B31.3 Process piping predominantly and BS EN 13480 Metallic Industrial Piping Duties: Implementation of QA/QC procedures as required by Company and Client standards Finalising stress analysis design basis, critical line list, data sheets, support specifications Review and comment of third-party analysis Qualification of Standard Piping support details including review and comment of third-party design calculation and verification of loads Review and comment of third-party MTO, datasheets and vendor Technical Bid Analysis Review and approval of Vendor drawings and documents Co-ordination with Piping Engineers and Designers and other disciplines as required for interfaces Co-ordination with Piping counterparts in Client/Sub-contractor organisations Site visits and data collection from Client's offices / plants Attend meetings with Clients / Sub-contractors / Vendors Identification of work breakdown structure and estimation of deliverables Input to project plans and schedules Qualifications: Minimum Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience. Holds or has the ability to obtain Chartered status.
