Job Description

Contract & Package 10-month contract; potential extension (Planned Start: early 2026) Work-away-from-home on 12 week rotations (dependent on ad hoc site and project factors) All project costs covered plus per diem Salary negotiable based on value, qualifications, and experience Fit-for-site medical and fitness required Purpose Embed MOS (prepare execute review) into the daily rhythm Verify critical controls in the field and uplift frontline leadership capability Drive psychological safety, accountability, and sustained culture change Key Outcomes Visible improvement in safe, reliable production at the point of work Consistent critical control verifications (isolation, LOTO, ground support, guarding) Practical pre-starts, short-interval controls, and end-of-shift reviews implemented Frontline leaders coached to give/receive feedback and hold standards What Youll Do Coach supervisors and crews in short, targeted sessions without disrupting the shift Observe behaviours, provide constructive feedback, and reinforce BBS practices Run field verifications; identify deviations and trigger safe pre-planning/escalations Set up crew run charts, action boards, and simple visual management Collaborate with senior and junior stakeholders; report progress and risks Experience & Background 8 years in mining or heavy industry safety programs Strong UG mining exposure (conventional and mechanised) and mining safety systems Proven application of BBS, adaptive change, and psychological safety principles Track record in organisational development/culture change (advantageous) Demonstrated coaching of frontline leaders (advantageous) Capabilities & Skills Behavioural and cultural change expertise Training, facilitation, and middle-to-senior management coaching Hazard ID, risk assessment, permits to work, isolations, LOTO, critical control verification Problem identification and correction; escalation when life-critical controls are weak Process optimisation and operational efficiency improvement Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Team player; calm, respected, and assertive presence
