Job Description

Grade 12 A bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field DegreeRecognized by professional body like the RICS or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Postgraduate qualification, such as a Master's degree can be advantageos A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required to pursue chartered status In this challenging role you will require the following: Responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects such as Cost estimating, cost planning, and cost control Identifying potential risks associated with the project, assessing their potential impact, and developing strategies to mitigate or manage those risk Managing and administering contracts with contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and managing the procurement process for materials and services. Contributing to the overall project management process, providing financial expertise and ensuring the project stays within budget and on schedule. Effectively communicating with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in the project. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in quantity surveying. dentifying and resolving any issues that arise during the project, including cost overruns, delays, or contractual disputes. Preparing clear and concise reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project progress and financial status to stakeholders. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is crucial for conveying complex information, negotiating contracts, and fostering positive working relationships to frequently interact with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other professionals Analyze data, assess risks, and develop practical solutions to cost and contract issues. they should be able to interpret technical drawings, understand engineering principles, and apply this knowledge to solve problems. Quantity surveyors need to be detail-oriented, meticulous in their work, and possess a strong understanding of measurement methods and contractual obligations. Ability to be able to identify and manage risks, negotiate effectively, and make informed decisions that protect the client's interests. Able to work under pressure, adjust their strategies, and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges. Be confident in their abilities, make sound judgments, and maintain high professional standards in their conduct and documentation.
