Job Description
Minimum Requirements B Eng, BSc Eng or BTech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution. Professional Registration: Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate site experience. Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 7 (SAQA-accredited). Successfully executed at least TWO (2) bridge construction projects in a lead/site representative capacity. Full-time site presence for the contract duration. Key Responsibilities Act as the Engineer’s Representative on the LIC bridge project and administer the contract (e.g., GCC). Plan and coordinate construction to achieve scope, programme, quality, safety and environmental targets. Maintain records/measurements and support payment certification and reporting. Engage with Employer, Contractor and community structures in line with LIC principles. Apply the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in all work Facilitate monthly reports and co-ordinate with all engineers site staff and related resources. Supervision of daily works, quality control, quantity measurements and verification. Review method statements, programmes and HSE documentation. Stakeholder coordination and issue resolution. Progress, payment and close-out documentation. Required Skills: Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable leading on site. Clear written and verbal communication. Able to mentor and guide junior personnel. Remuneration & Benefits: Salary: Market-related. Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus paid in December, based on employee and company performance. Vehicle Use: Compensation for personal vehicle use at Department of Transport prescribed rates, updated monthly. Telecom Services: Approved monthly claims for private cell phone use (voice & data) if required for specific projects.
