As an Overhead Lines Operative, you would be primarily responsible for delivering LV and HV overhead line works across the Northumberland County Durham Tyne & Wear/Teesside regions with Northern Powergrid’s catchment of responsibility. Along with a competitive salary between £44,841 and £62,194 (Dependant currently held authority codes as well as experience), we also offer great benefits such as; •25 days holiday plus bank holidays which increases up to 28 days with service •Enrolment into our enhanced pension scheme (employee contributions 4.7% with employer contributions of 6.5% increasing after 5 years service to 5.7% employee and 8.5% employer) •Career development & progression with opportunity to increase your salary •Ability to earn professional qualifications •24/7 access to Mental health support & counselling services •Eye care vouchers with funding towards glasses •Contractual sick pay •Long service recognition •Paid volunteering opportunities within the community Key Responsibilities •Deliver LV and HV Overhead line works (including the ad hoc requirement of shrouding) in line with company productivity expectations. •Complete all works to industry standards whilst adhering to scheduled work programmes. •Carry out construction, refurbishment and maintenance works at both LV and HV. •This includes LV/HV rebuild, and refurbishment works, including wood and steel pole replacements and open wire and ABC re-stringing, LV/HV D pole works, CRM, ESQCR, LV steel pole replacements, shrouding works. •Drive customer service and satisfaction by meeting prescribed appointments and delivering work safely and efficiently. •Complete all planned works and ensure that all work sites are left in a safe and tidy state. Key Competencies •Ability to work effectively in a team environment •Good customer service skills •Good communicator both verbal and written •Excellent time management •Competent and safe driver as well as having experience driving LGV’s and MEWPs. •A keenness to learn, develop and take on challenges, even if certain tasks are less favorable. • A solution-based thinker, who will look to provide resolution to difficult scenarios. •Good understanding of working safely on-site as well as a good grasp risk assessment and hazard mitigation. Expected Qualifications & Experience •Some DNO authorisation codes •IPAF •Manual Handling, First Aid & Pole Top Rescue •A full UK driving licence
