RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Pipeline Engineer to join its office in Fano or Genoa, Italy within the Plant Engineering Division. Key Accountabilities Pipeline Design, Engineering Studies and Analyses: Support engineering studies and analyses for pipeline design. Carry out design and consulting activities at various levels such as feasibility studies, hydraulic analysis, stress analysis, risk assessment, concept selection, material selection, basic design, detail design, FEED and cost estimation relevant to projects. Determine the best route for the pipeline considering topography, geotechnical conditions and land use minimizing environmental impact. Perform pipeline routing optimization. Documentation and Specifications: Prepare engineering documents including design reports, material specifications, data sheets, MTOs, drawings, construction and testing specifications and requisitions. Ensure technical documentation meets adequate standards and contribute to updating RINA standards. Client and Team Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their requirements, present design proposals and address any concerns or modifications. Ensure project design changes are implemented and inform the Pipeline Senior Engineer about work progress. Construction Support: Provide support during the construction phase, addressing any design related issues that may arise and ensuring that the construction is in accordance with the approved design. Assist the Pipeline Senior Engineer or Pipeline Principal Engineer in solving technical problems during projects. Perform and verify all discipline analyses and calculation reports required for the complete design of pipelines. Verify and respond to remarks from clients and certifying bodies. Third-Party and Subcontractor Coordination: Review and control subcontracted discipline engineering documents. Perform review/independent analysis of pipelines (existing or new) during third-party engineering. Check the engineering activities of third parties/subcontractors. Proposals and Technical Papers: Support and prepare technical and commercial proposals. Cooperate in the preparation of technical papers, rules, and guidelines. Reporting: Report to the Pipeline Senior Engineer. Innovation and Optimization: Explore new technologies and methodologies to optimize pipeline design and construction processes. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that pipeline design complies with local, state and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and codes. Mission The Junior Pipeline Engineer is an entry level position and is responsible for assist in performing technical engineering activities related to the design, appraisal, and certification of pipelines, either existing or new, in accordance with project requirements. This supporting role ensures activities are completed within assigned budgets, time schedules, and quality standards. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Qualifications Relevant experience (1-3 years) in pipeline engineering, including design and analysis. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for pipeline design and construction. Proficiency in using software tools for structural design and installation analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform complex calculations and simulations related to pipeline design. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with clients, project teams, and subcontractors. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred. Ongoing commitment to professional development and learning.
